A missionary is never alone in his mission. He is, of course, accompanied by Christ, but he is also accompanied by the Church, the Body of Christ.

Each prayer places the people we serve, along with their needs, hopes, struggles, joys, and sufferings, into the hands of God. It is His work, and He is the master builder. “For unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1).

Through prayer, God mysteriously weaves us into communion with one another. Across distances and time, our hearts are united in Christ. We carry one another’s joys and burdens with faithful, quiet love, reaching beyond what the eye can see. Yet, what is unseen is no less real, and it blossoms and bears fruit in ways that only God can know.
